The Arte Moose Collective was founded in 2012 in Brooklyn, New York, with the support of AHRC New York City.

The  members of Arte Moose are artists with developmental disabilities, who founded the collective to introduce their ideas and visual creativity into the larger discourse of contemporary art.

The goal of the Arte Moose Collective is to develop and broaden the visibility of their artwork, as well as to increase the value of work that historically has had very little cultural capital.  The collective believes that they are a vital part of the art community, and that they can contribute to the growing movement of socially aware art and design in America.
